The prefabricated metal bridge that crosses the turquoise waters of the Kwai has come to symbolize the riverside city of Kanchanaburi ever since Pierre Boulle’s 1952 novel, The Bridge on the River Kwai, was published.
In addition to offering the chance to travel the entire route and housing museums, war cemeteries, statues, and other memorials, Kanchanaburi has developed into a bustling metropolis with eateries, marketplaces, and retail establishments along the river. Additionally, Erawan National Park’s jungle trails and waterfalls are accessible from that turquoise water.
