Uganda’s capital and largest city is Kampala. The international airport is in Entebbe, a sizable town near Kampala on Lake Victoria. It’s often necessary to spend a night in the area, and there are some excellent hotels.
Visiting either city is primarily done when traveling into or out of Uganda. Even those who stay longer usually stay outside of town near Lake Victoria. In addition to the lake, fishing, and water sports, the area offers some great birdwatching locations, and the River Nile is only a short drive away.
